We're not your typical architecture firm. Started in a cramped Toronto loft back in 2012, we've grown into something we're genuinely proud of - a studio that gives a damn about both the old and the new.
It's been quite a ride, honestly
Three architects, one shared workspace, and way too much coffee. We started Luminar Citadel because we were tired of seeing beautiful old buildings getting demolished for generic glass boxes. Our first project? A Victorian row house restoration on Spadina - still one of our favorites.
Landed our first major commercial project - the Junction Market renovation. That's when we realized we didn't have to choose between respecting history and embracing modern design. We could do both, and do 'em well.
Started our sustainable design initiative after realizing that preserving heritage and protecting the environment go hand in hand. Got our LEED certification and haven't looked back. Now every project we touch has sustainability baked in from day one.
Moved into our current Bay Street studio - ironic for a firm that started rebelling against corporate architecture, but here we are. Expanded our team to 25 talented folks who all share our weird obsession with making cities better places to live.
We're working on projects across Ontario, from adaptive reuse developments to brand-new sustainable residential complexes. Still drink too much coffee, still care way too much about every detail, and still believe architecture can actually make people's lives better.

The folks who make it happen
Founding Principal
Heritage restoration specialist who won't compromise on historical accuracy. She's saved more brick facades than anyone in Toronto.
Design Director
The guy who figures out how to make impossible designs actually work. Former structural engineer, current miracle worker.
Sustainability Lead
She's basically a green building encyclopedia. If there's an eco-friendly solution, Priya's already thought of it twice.
Urban Planning Head
Sees cities like chess boards. His urban planning strategies have reshaped three Toronto neighborhoods already.
Interior Design Lead
Makes spaces feel like they've always been there. Her interiors have that effortless quality that takes years to master.
Commercial Projects
Handles our big commercial builds. Former construction manager, so he actually knows what's realistic and what's just wishful thinking.
Not just buzzwords - stuff we actually believe in
Every old building has a story. We don't erase stories - we add new chapters. Heritage isn't just about aesthetics; it's about keeping a city's soul intact.
Climate change isn't a future problem - it's a right-now problem. We design buildings that'll be around for generations, using methods that won't wreck the planet.
Architecture isn't art for art's sake. Real people live and work in these spaces. If a design doesn't improve someone's daily life, we're doing it wrong.
It's the little things - how light hits a wall at 3pm, where you naturally put your keys when you walk in. We obsess over details so you don't have to.
The second you think you know everything about architecture is the second you should quit. We're constantly learning, experimenting, and yeah, sometimes failing.
We'll tell you if your idea won't work - nicely, but honestly. And we expect the same from you. Best projects come from real conversations, not polite nodding.
Whether you've got a century-old building that needs some love or a blank lot that's begging for something special, let's talk.
